Masquerade (2012)

Masquerade is a 2012 released, South Korean movie; it’s a historical film starring Lee Byung-hun in in double roles, and Han Hyo-joo, Shim Eun-kyung, In-won kim, Seung-yongRoo and Jan Gwang is other roles. Han Hyo-joo plays the bizarre King Gwanghae and the modest acrobat Ha-sun. Han Hyo-joo stands in for the monarch when he faces the threat of being poisoned.

                   

In order to avoid the continuous threat of being assassinated, the sad historic character of King Gwang-hae instructs his councilor Heokyun to find him a look alike. Ha-sun, a joker who looks bizarrely like the king, is finally chosen. But the dreaded day, which the King Gwang-haealways feared, comes all too fast. The King goes under a severe coma induced by a strange poison. Quickly realizing that he has what it takes to be a good king, Ha-sun must rule Chosunnow as if it were truly his own and prove his worth. There is also the conflict of the queen being unsure of the real King is and his secret. 

                    

Masquerade is fourth highest grossing film of Korea. It sold millions of tickets worldwide. It swept the Grand Bell Awards winning 15 categories. The film was very well received all throughout the globe.
