Ernest & Celestine is a French-Belgian anime movie released during 2012 directed by Benjamin Renner, Vincent Patar and Stephane Aubier. Celestine is a young mouse living in the underground world of rodents where she is told many scary stories about the vicious character of bears by her caretaker. Though she wants to draw, she has to study dentistry.
During training period, Celestine has to come above the underground to pick up young bear’s lost teeth from beneath pillows. One day the cub’s family catches her in the act and chases her into a trash-can and she needs to spend the night in the can.
Next morning, Ernest an innocent and starving bear finds her and tries to eat her. She convinces him not to ear and gets him to a basement of food. There begins an unlikely attachment between the two. However, when they soon find, not all above and below the ground, are admitting their friendship of unheard-of.
The movie has been screened in many film festivals including 2012 Cannes Film Festival, 2013 Hong Kong International Film Festival and at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival. If you are an animated movie fanatic, this movie will satisfy well.
