Wolf Children (2012)

Wolf Children, released in 2012 is also known as The Wolf Children Ame and Yuki is a Japanese Science fiction fantasy animated film directed by Mamoru Hosoda. This superb movie stars the voices ofTakao Osawa, Aoi Miyazaki, Yukito Nishii and Haru Kuroki

                        

The film is a story of Hana; a 19-year-old student falls in a fairy-tale like love with a "wolf man". Over the period of the 13-year long story Hana gives birth to a couple of children – the older sibling Yuki, and her younger brother Ame, or Snow and Rain respectively. At first the family peacefully lives, trying to hide their wolf heritage, but when her wolf man husband suddenly dies Hana takes the resolution to move to a rural town, far away from the city life and raise her two children there. The story from then on revolves around her challenges to bring them up in the normal society.

                     

The film was high grosser and was appreciated by all.. Director Mamoru Hosoda announced a press conference in 2012 that Wolf Children to be released in 34 different countries. This film was first released in France on June 25, 2012, making its international debut. It was then released in Japan on July 21, 2012. The film made its US opening at the 2012 in Hawaii International Film Festival. The film was released in Blu-ray and DVD in Japan on February 20, 2013.
