Moonrise Kingdom released in 2012 is an American Romantic comedy movie. Directed by Wes Anderson and written by Roman Coppola, the film casts Jared Gilman and Kara Hayward in the main roles. Other casts includes Bruce Willis as the local Sheriff, Edward Norton as the Scout Troop leader with Bill Murray and Frances McDormand the little girls’ parents.

The film is set in the summer of 1965 on a small island in the coast of New England. The movie is the sweet story of a young, twelve year old couple who falls in love and decides to run away together in to the wilderness. When found missing several, authorities begin searching for them amidst a storm that lurks just off shore. The peaceful community of the island town goes haywire in many ways. The beautiful story about pubescent love is a pleasure to watch all through.
The was produced independently and was taken up by Focus Features for worldwide distribution, The film received with applause by all audiences and also got commercial success. The film was nominated for the Academy award for Best original Screenplay and also for Golden Globe award for Best Motion picture. Critics across the globe hailed the movie highly as a great family entertainer.
