Lincoln is an American film based on one of the most sensitive issues of America. This film was released on 2012. Steven Spielberg, the ground breaking director, brings the sensitive issue on the big screen. As suggests by the name of the film, this movie is based on the life of the president of the United States of America, Abraham Lincoln. The film comes to reel under the screenplay of Tony Kushner, that derives its idea from the “Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln” by Doris Kearns Goodwin.

           

This film reveals the story of last few months of Lincoln before the brutal assassination. A good many number of unrevealed information came to the lime light through this movie. Daniel Day-Lewis and Sally Field play the role of President Lincoln and the first lady, as Mary Todd Lincoln.

The film was selected for Golden Globe Awards that include nomination in the category of Best Director, Best Motion Picture-Drama etc. Day-Lewis was awarded the best actor award for his outstanding performance in the 85th Academy Awards.
