Nanban is a Tamil
comedy drama movie released on 2012 directed by Shankar, and is a remake of 3
idiots, a Hindi movie. The movie tells the story of three friends and the
achievements they gained in their afterlife owing to one of their extraordinary
friend.

The movie was shown at the Melbourne Indian Film
Festival during 2012. Nanban brings into notice the necessary of studying by
understanding, in spite of going for meaningless mugging. This is a must-watch
movie if you are a parent with dreams about your children.
The movie begins
on two friends Sevarkodi Senthil (Jeeva) and Venkat Ramakrishnan (Sreekanth)
setting out in search of their long lost friend Pari (Vijay). Srivatsan, a nerd
college mate accompanies them in the journey and movie shows intermittent
flashbacks in which Pari was a bright, free-spirited student who convinces his
friends senthil and venkat to follow their heart and tackle challenges
positively reciting his manta – All is well.
Pari wants to modify
the whole education system and frequently came to conflict with Prfodessor
Virumandi Santhanam who is comically called as Virus by students. Virus uses to
say ‘Life is a race – run, run, run’. Pari fell in love with Virus’s daughter
Riya and movie is about his journey.
