Beyond the Hills (2012)

Beyond the Hills is a Romanian drama film released on 2012. The original or the Romanian version of the film was known as Dupădealuri. Cristina Flutur and Cosmina Stratan star the film under the successful direction of the leading director namely, Cristian Mungiu. He also played the screenplay of the film.

                         

The story narrates the tales of two young ladies. The story is set an Orthodox convent in Romania. This tale is based on the famous book of Deadly Confession and Judges' Book by Tatiana Niculescu Bran. Beyond the Hills is distributed by Sundance Selects in United States and Madman Entertainment in Australia. Oleg Mutu played the cinematography of the film, whereas editing is conducted by Mircea Olteanu.

                          

The film won a number of awards for its outstanding performance. This movie was debuted at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival 2012. Co actress of the film, Flutur and Stratan, were crowned with the Best Actress award whereas the director won the Best Screenplay award. The film even represented the Romanian film for the Best Foreign Language Oscar at the prestigious 85th Academy Awards.
