No (2012)

No is a Chilean film based on the play of Antonio Skármeta. Outstanding direction of Pablo Larraín, has made the on screen appearance of El Plebiscito, the unpublished play of Antonio Skármeta an exciting experience to watch at. It is interesting to note over here that the screenplay is written by Pedro Peirano. Gael García Bernal plays the leading role in the film.

                      

Gael García Bernal characterizes the role of an advertising person of the 1980s, who hasa huge demand in the market. The story of the film deals with the historical campaign of Chile, when the populace was asked to determine the future of the general in power, Augusto Pinochet. Here lays the twist of the plot. The film reveals how the strategies of advertisement are implemented on the political campaign and the dilemma of the advertisement creator who cannot decide his role. 

                       

Due to its outstanding performance, the film has made its successful entry in the 85th Academy Awards, under the category of the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar. Distributed by Sony Pictures Classics and Network Releasing, the movie has gained critical appraisal from the viewers
