The Reluctant Fundamentalist (2012)

This movie directed by an award winning director Mira Nair, is based upon a young Pakistani man who is tracking corporate success on Wall Street. He is in a conflict between his American Dream, a captive crisis and the continuing call of his homeland. It is completely a political thriller starring Riz Ahmed and Kate Hudson as protagonists.

                       

The film was premiered at the 37th Toronto International Film Festival and received mixed reviews from viewers. Mira Nair received the world feature award for “The Reluctant Fundamentalist” in the year 2012 i.e. the year of its release and it even won German Film Award for peace and even IFFI century award.

                       

The movie was a huge hit at the box office for a plausible performance and charismatic looks of Riz Ahmed. Mira Nair presented a salutary reminder of the twin towers attack with strong lead performance from the protagonists which made right impression in the Venice film festival. Leading the audience through the culturally charming and rich worlds of Lahore, Istanbul and New York, the story is the phenomenon of globalization that is both disconcerting and brilliant.
