Beasts of the Southern Wild (2012)

Beasts of the Southern Wild, is a fantasy film that has made its first appearance on the theatre on 2012. Benh Zeitlin directs the movie while Lucy Alibar and Benh Zeitlinwrite the screenplay of the film. Quvenzhané Wallis and Dwight Henry play the leading role in the film.

                        

The plot of the movie moves around the community of “Bathtub”, a community of southern Louisiana bayou. The film opens with a storm approaching towards the community. The story tells the life and suffering of the people of the community during, before and after the storm.

The film was selected for Academy Awards at the 85th Academy Awards under various categories that include Best Director, Best Picture, Best Actress and Best Adapted Screenplay. Interestingly, Wallis, the actress of the movie is youngest one to be selected in the best actress category just at the age of nine. The film, Beasts of the Southern Wild, is distributed around the theaters of the world by the Fox Searchlight Pictures.
