Populaire is a feature length debut starring Deborah Francois, Roman Duris, Shaun Benson, Berenice bejo directed by Regis Roinsard. The story is about a boy, a type writer and a girl which is an Oscar wining piece. It is a romantic comedy to the underappreciated Hollywood Movies of 1950’s with a marvelous feeling for the textures of Technicolor.
The viewer’s really over the story and feels breathlessly excited during some scenes. But thanks to the debut director Roinsard who presents the story in a very interesting way with expert technical contributions. In fact, Rosinard encapsulates the 1950 dreams to become an independent woman and gains recognitions. Sometimes, the movie feels like Rosinard’s love letter for liberation of women. It received hit at the box office and many people enjoyed it with good ratings and reviews.
