Paradise: Faith (2012)

Paradise: Faith is an Austrian drama movie released in the year 2012. The film is directed and written by Ulrich Seidl and is the second installation of his trilogy. The film stars Maria Hofstatter, Nabil Saleh, Daniel Hoesl, Natalija Baranova, Rene Rupnik, Dieter Masur in the lead roles along with others in the supporting cast.

                         

The film Paradise: Faith, director Ulrich Seidl, discovers though the protagonists what bearing the cross means. Anna Maria, is an X-ray technician, is of the belief that paradise is with Jesus. She dedicates her holiday to missionary work as she wants Austria to be brought to the path of virtue.

                         

On her regular pilgrimage through the city of Vienna, she visits door to door, with a foot long statue of Virgin Mary. On one -day, after several years of being absent, her husband, an Egyptian Muslim comes home, limited to the wheelchair. The prayers and hymns and are now merged with them fighting it out on a daily basis. Paradise: Faith recounts the situations of the cross marriage and their yearning for love.

The film was featured in several Film Award functions; it was even nominated for the golden Lion at the prestigious Venice Film festival and also has won several European awards. The film was very well received with the critics and audiences.
