In the Fog (2012)

In the Fog is a Russian drama film which is directed by Sergei Loznitsa. Story plays in the year of 1942, western frontiers of the USSR. A man is wrongly charged of collaboration. The problems he faces while saving his dignity is neatly features in the movie. Vladimir Svirskiy, Vladislav Abashin, Sergei Kolesov and Yulia Peresild play the major role in the movie.

                             

The movie is adapted from Vasil Bykaw’s short story. Vladimir Sviskiy plays the lead role as Sushenya. He was being caught by the army a then judged to be shot by the army. But the militant soldiers were fallen into a trap set by the Germans. In spite of being arrested sushenya try to save the life of the executioner’s life by carrying him to the nearby village. The movie passes through a series of unexpected incidents. War between the Nazi and partisans was portrayed in the movie.


                               

The film was shot in Belarus, Germany, Russia, Latvia and Netherlands. The film competed in the Palme d’Or at the Cannes festival in the year 2012, and also the movie has won the award at Golden Apricot, the Yerevan international festival of movies, 2012 for the best featured film.
