Resident Evil: Afterlife

The fourth installment of Resident Evil series has 3D as its USP and undoubtedly, 3D is of top quality. You will come across a number of impressive scenes with airplanes sliding over glaciers or evaluating the huge and gigantic white hangars. But, when you discuss what you actually expect from this series, the direction makes the film look good with beautifully-staged action.

Paul W. S. Anderson, the direction of the first film and the producer of the last of the two franchises is back in action and Milla Jovovich plays her role as zombie killer babe, Alice! The plot is set in a zombie- besieged jail in the after apocalypse. The location Los Angeles does complete justice to the movie with amazing chicks, doomed bit players absorbing tough knocks, panic deadweights and tough blokes.

Because of his knack for uber-ridiculous and exclusively slow motion action scenes, he adds life to the movie. The movie has been well assembled and has dreadful dialogues which enhance the storyline.

Resident Evil: Afterlife gives a pleasing effect to its fan base and will also attract new movie buffs because of its arresting visuals. But, if you have watched the first three movies of this series, and if you’re looking for something more than slam bang action, then you will not be happy with it.
The opening of the film is strong with the scared Alice moving on a siege on the evil company that years before released a virus which has reduced the earth to just a post-apocalyptic world ruled by cannibal zombies.

The sequence has Alice brandishing gigantic metal pieces and ravishingly sharpened knives. She also mowed down infinite hapless enemy reserves.

With the sojourn to Alaska and team up with old cohort Claire who is suffering from amnesia, Alice moves to L.A. She unites with a ragtag gang of survivors whom she finds trapped in a hi-tech prison, with ten hundreds of zombies howling at them.

The film maker has paid extra attention to the patience of the viewer and provided some amazing action sequences, mostly which are copied from Matrix, the Descent and Die Hard. The action is the highlight of the movie. The movie takes the resident evil movies list a step ahead. Undeniably the movie is terrific much like its other installments. The film makers have brought seen some lip biting scenes too. The post shooting conversions of the camera has done full justice to 3D.

However, if you’re looking for honest and fair ranking of resident evil series, then this is where the movie stands:

6. Resident Evil: Extinction (2007)
5. Resident Evil: The Final Chapter (2016)
4. Resident Evil: Apocalypse (2004)
3. Resident Evil (2002)
2. Resident Evil: Retribution (2012)
1. Resident Evil: Afterlife (2010)

Yes, the movie is the best in its series. The source is bloody, cute and corny and you will surely once again fall in love with Paul W. S. Anderson. Check out this marvelous creation of this amazing series to see the new excitement and explosions.
